The Black Earth Film Festival is pleased to announce its third year of partnership with the Manhattan Short Film Festival.

An extraordinary global event will take place the week of September 28 to October 7, 2012 when over 100,000 people in over 250 cities across six continents gather in Cinemas, Galleries, Universities, Museums and Cafes for one purpose...to view and vote on Finalists' Films in the Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival.

The mission of the Manhattan Short Film festival is to unite audiences across all seven continents of the globe for one week via the most compelling short films submitted each year. One World One Week One Festival is emblazoned within the rings that surround the Festivals Logo and it is this mantra that sets us apart from any other film event of the year.

What We Are - BLACK EARTH FILM FESTIVAL

We began with an idea a few years ago, an idea to enrich the quality and type of the visual arts available to the people of Galesburg, Knox County and western Illinois.

The result was and is the Black Earth Film Festival, which strives to bring the finest in independent films of all varieties to our community at large.

Through cooperation with our online partner Without A Box, we have connected with filmmakers from all around the world and brought their visions, their art, to the people of the Midwest.

If you are interested in helping with the Fest, please contact us. We are always looking for new Committee Members and volunteer help. The only way the BEFF can continue to grow and improve is with the help of the community.

We appreciate all of the support it has given us and look forward to even greater cooperation and success in the future.
